وفقًا للتنظيمات الجديدة للجنة العامة لانيوزخابات الأندية الرياضية، فإنه يتعين على أي مرشح لرئاسة مجلس إدارة النادي، تقديم دعم مالي للنادي لا يقل عن 40 مليون ريال سعودي. وإذا لم يتم استيفاء هذا الشرط، فستقوم الجمعية العامة لشركة النادي باختيار الرئيس من بين الأعضاء السبعة المرشحين من قبل صندوق الاستثمارات العامة ومؤسسة أعضاء النادي.

وسيتم تقديم الطلبات من خلال رابط منصة الجمعية العمومية الانيوزخابية للنادي، حيث سيتم استقبال طلبات المرشحين والناخبين اعتبارًا من يوم الأحد 27 يوليو وحتى الساعة الرابعة عصرًا من يوم الخميس 31 من نفس الشهر.
فهد بن نافل يعتبر مرشحًا بارزًا للاستمرار في منصبه، حيث يحظى بدعم الأمير الوليد بن طلال، العضو الذهبي الذي يمثل قوة التصويت في الجمعية العمومية للنادي.
